We operate the African Recipes: 54 Countries mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.

• Account Information — Email address and display name when you create an account.
• User Content — Recipes you save to favorites, shopping lists you create, and search queries.

Information Collected Automatically

• Device Information — Device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers.
• Usage Data — App interactions, features used, screens visited, and session duration (via Firebase Analytics).
• Advertising ID — Google Advertising ID for serving personalized ads (via Google AdMob).

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

• Google AdMob — Advertising identifiers for ad delivery.
• Service providers — Hosting (Railway), email (Resend), who process data on our behalf.
• Legal obligations — When required by law or to protect our rights.

5. Data Security

All data transmitted between the App and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. We implement commercially reasonable security measures to protect your data.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time (see Section 8). Usage analytics are retained in aggregate form and cannot be used to identify individual users after 14 months.

7. Children's Privacy

Our App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us immediately.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your account and associated data — visit Delete Account or email us
• Opt out of personalized advertising via your device settings
• Withdraw consent for push notifications via device settings

9. International Users

Our servers are located in the United States. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your information to the US, where data protection laws may differ from your country.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy in the App or on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
